Compost worms over population
  • This is optimism at its best considering my first worms are still in the mail. A t what point does reproduction slow due to too many worms in too little space. Would there be any advantage to splitting my first pound of worms (euros) into 2 bins (18gal sterlites)?
  • Haha, well when your worms arrive they will start reproducing fairly quick so...

Worms seem to reproduce fastest when they are about 1/4 pound of worms per square foot of worm bin surface space.
  • In crowded bins the worms seem to mature at a much smaller size
I started with low density and as the bin became more populated the worms became smalled. They had tons of bedding and food.
  • WF told me that I can have 1# of worms per tray  And I'm going to start a 10gal RM bin and put  2# of worms in it as soon as I get them from Matthew hope Monday he shipped them today. I found alot of babies in my 2 tray of the WF with alot of big worms   red wigglers
