Worms clumping in a tight ball
  • Just noticed that in one of my bins, a lot of worms are clumped in a pretty tight ball. This bin's worms have also been eating a lot less food. Other bin's population is doing well.

Both bins kept inside and avg temp is about 60-62. Just increased temp in that room to see if it makes any difference.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • Is it possibly a little on the dry side?
  • Don't think so, since I keep the moisture almost identical in both bins and they sit side-by-side. I think it may be to the temperature. The "clumping" bin is clear and has thinner walls. Am I on the right track thinking this?

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • It is possible, but they normally clump at a lot lower temp, say 45ish.
