I need your help. Please suggest blog topics.
  • Quick shout out here for everyone. I need topics to write on for the Blog! Please help, otherwise I will be like that show host Mike Rowe and have to resort to extremes :)

    Thanks in advance.
  • Matthew, I am getting these little mites (I think) running around my worm bin and I think they are laying eggs. How about pest control as a topic. I wipe on the surface and I added the diamentatus (bad spelling) earth but they just keep going like the energizing bunny.

  • How about telling the difference between the EF's and EH's. Likes, dis-likes,life span, temp tolerance etc.

  • Great topics. I will get on it. This is good stuff. More suggestions please...

    Thanks!
  • Tips on how and where to market worm tea and castings.

Tips on how to easily/quickly harvest worms for sale as bait and/or feeders.
  • Matthew

How about some info as to the procedure you go through to complete an order for worms.Harvesting packing etc.Maybe even a video.Just a thought.
  • Thanks Chuck that is a good idea as well. I am getting a waterproof camera that takes video as well soon. I am always scared to carry my normal camera around the worm farm in case it gets really dirty, but with a waterproof one dirt should not be a problem.

I am working on the other post as well. Just takes me a little time to get them done. I think the Ef vs Eh article is going to end up as a 3 part post. Got the first one done but I am letting it sit for a bit so that when I proof read I will be more likely to catch mistakes :)

    I do struggle with grammar.
  • Great job as usual Matthew,

    Thanks
  • I am interested in your shredded cardboard bedding. I researched hammer mills and wondered how you picked the right one.
  • It was your eh v ef article that got me to your site and got my business.
  • Hey, thanks for the feedback. The hammer mill was modified from one I picked up off of craigslist. Didn't really pick other than the fact that I just got a good deal on it.
  • How about additives like Azomite and glacial rock dusts?

    @lark

The mites in your worm bin are part of the composting ecosystem and perfectly fine. To reduce the numbers, reduce the moisture content and don't add as much acidic wastes like citrus, tomatoes, etc... They won't bother anything though. You can also lay a watermelon rind upside down on the top of the bedding. After a day, take it out and rinse the mites off.

Howdy, Stranger!
